Tucker Carlson's departure from Fox News has led to the cancellation of the documentary.
The documentary, called "O, Canada," was set to feature People's Party of Canada Leader Maxime Bernier and members of the "Freedom Convoy" movement, discussing the country's oppressive COVID-19 restrictions, introduced at the federal level by the prime minister.
The sudden departure of top anchor Tucker Carlson from Fox News last week has led to the cancellation of the documentary, according to the Globe and Mail.
The teaser for the documentary, released weeks ago, showed Trudeau depicted as a dictator, with clips of former presidents Obama and Bush discussing American military ventures abroad.
The trailer also featured shots of Trudeau in blackface, sticking his tongue.
The film's focus was on the Canadian government's crackdown on the peaceful Freedom Convoy protests that paralyzed downtown Ottawa in 2022. The Trudeau government would eventually freeze the bank accounts of those present, imprison the rally's leader, and enact the Emergencies Act, a never-before-used piece of legislation that had not even been used during the 9/11 attacks.
The teaser trailer questioned whether the US should invade Canada to liberate Canadians from authoritarian rule, citing America's history of opposing dictatorships around the world. The documentary was set to be released on Monday, but the Fox News spokesperson has confirmed it will not air.
