The deposition is set to take place on August 11 at the Federal Correctional Institution Tallahassee, where Maxwell is being held.
House Oversight Chairman James Comer has subpoenaed Ghislaine Maxwell. The deposition is set to take place on August 11 at the Federal Correctional Institution Tallahassee, where Maxwell is being held.
"The Department of Justice is cooperating and will help facilitate the deposition at the prison," Comer said.
This comes after the committee voted on Tuesday to subpoena Maxwell, who is currently serving a 20-year prison term in Tallahassee for sex trafficking charges in connection with infamous financier Jeffrey Epstein, who died in his prison cell in 2019 while awaiting trial on federal sex trafficking charges.
The Department of Justice has said that they would want to meet with Maxwell if she has "information about anyone who has committed crimes against victims."
"This Department of Justice does not shy away from uncomfortable truths, nor from the responsibility to pursue justice wherever the facts may lead," said Bondi in a statement. "The joint statement by the DOJ and FBI of July 6 remains as accurate today as it was when it was written. Namely, that in the recent thorough review of the files maintained by the FBI in the Epstein case, no evidence was uncovered that could predicate an investigation against uncharged third parties."
"President Trump has told us to release all credible evidence. If Ghislaine Maxwell has information about anyone who has committed crimes against victims, the FBI and the DOJ will hear what she has to say," Bondi added in the statement.
