On Monday, the House Oversight Committee offered a resolution recommending that Hunter Biden be held in contempt of Congress over his refusal to comply with the subpoena they previously issued. Instead of complying with the subpoena to be deposed before House Oversight, Biden gave a speech on the Senate side of the Capitol Building.

In the resolution, the committee broke down their case against the president's son, calling his "flagrant defiance" of their subpoena on December 13 "contemptuous" and "unlawful." Biden had been subpoenaed in connection with the impeachment inquiry into his father. Congressmen wanted answers as to President Joe Biden's relationship with his son's shady overseas business deals and allegations of influence peddling.

"The Committees have accumulated significant evidence suggesting that President Biden knew of, participated in, and profited from foreign business interests engaged in by his son, about which the Committees intended to question Mr. Biden during his deposition," the committee wrote.

"However, Mr. Biden brazenly defied the Committees' subpoenas, choosing to read a prepared statement outside of the Capitol instead of appearing for a deposition as required by the subpoenas. Mr. Biden’s willful refusal to comply with the Committees’ subpoenas constitutes contempt of Congress and warrants referral to the appropriate United States Attorney's Office for prosecution as prescribed by law."

This is a breaking story and will be updated.
