New York Attorney General Letitia James has increased the amount that Donald Trump and his company should pay in the civil case to $370 million, which is up from the prior $250 million.

The increase was contained in a brief filed on Friday in Manhattan amid the months-long trial, for which closing arguments are scheduled for January 11.

A press release at the launch of the lawsuit alleges that Trump overstated his net worth with various different means such as inflating the value of his real estate.

In addition, the release stated that monetary damages he would owe in consequence would be "at least two hundred and fifty million dollars" and were "to be determined at trial."

In the most recent filing, James stated that Trump used a "myriad deceptive schemes" in order to "inflate asset values and conceal facts were so outrageous that they belie innocent explanation."

In a response, Trump attorney's argued, "There is no evidence in the record that the terms or pricing of any of the subject loans would have been different based on the purported misstatements alleged by Plaintiff."

"Not a single witness from any bank (or anywhere else) testified to this at trial," Trump's team continued.

The judge to decide the case, Judge Arthur Engoron, who slapped Trump's attorneys with a gag order in November which was appealed and then reinstated, has ruled in favor of New York on many of the different portions of the case. The final verdict will be handed down at a later date

Back in October, Trump commented on the nature of the trial, saying, "We have a racist attorney general whose a horror show, who ran on the basis that she was gonna get Trump before she even knew anything about me. She used this to run for governor."

This a breaking story and will be updated.
