A man from Dover, New Hampshire has been arrested after sending a text threatening to kill Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy at a Monday morning campaign event in nearby Portsmouth.

Tyler Anderson, 30, was subsequently charged with transmitting in interstate commerce a threat to injure the person of another and taken into custody.

According to the Department of Justice, Anderson received a text message from Ramaswamy's campaign on December 8 notifying him of the event in Portsmouth.

"Great, another opportunity for me to blow his brains out!" he replied, adding that he was "going to kill everyone who attends and then f*ck their corpses."

Anderson is scheduled to appear in federal court on Monday afternoon. If found guilty, he could face up to five years in prison, three years of supervised release, and a $250,000 fine.

Despite the threat, Ramaswamy went ahead with his visit to the Roundabout Diner.

During the event, he mingled with diners as they ate their breakfasts, spreading the message that the nation's best days are yet to come.

This is a breaking story and will be updated.
