Bill Maher ADMITS Joe Biden is losing—that’s why he agreed to debates

“Is it too late to switch out?” Maher asked.

Bill Maher recently suggested that President Joe Biden's sudden willingness to debate former President Donald Trump indicates that he "knows he's losing." Maher also asked if it's "too late" for the Democratic Party to replace Biden with another candidate, suggesting that Biden should be replaced.

“To me it says Biden knows he’s losing because otherwise he wouldn’t have agreed,” Maher commented during Friday’s show.  “Only the loser wants to debate.”

Maher asked New York Times columnist Pamela Paul, a member of the guest panel, if she thought the debate would impact the election. Paul responded that debates are not decisive and could still influence voters.

“Well, I think the guy who has more to prove is Biden,” Maher said. “Trump is a known commodity. They know he’s gonna be an a*sh*le. He’s gonna be lurking and growling and not obeying the rules and everything else. But Biden, they want to see proof of life.”

Paul went on to claim that Biden has demonstrated his ability to deliver passionate and effective speeches, such as during the State of the Union address. She also joked that Biden might need to undergo “drug testing” before the debates, something that Trump has publicly advocated for.

Maher expressed his belief that the consensus is that Biden cannot win, pointing to polling data showing him trailing in key swing states

“Is it too late to switch out?” Maher asked. “Because in these swing states where Biden is losing, it’s interesting. The Democratic Senate candidate is not losing. So, it just says something, which is it’s not the party necessarily somewhat, but it’s the guy. They just don’t see him as the guy no matter what he does. He has plenty of victories. It doesn’t seem to ever move the needle, but the Democrats will have to get off their keister now. Now!”

“We sound like three kids around the hospital bed,” Maher joked.

Biden is set to officially become the Democratic Party’s nominee for the 2024 election at the Democratic National Convention, scheduled for August 19-22 in Chicago.
