Black and Hispanic voters shifting more pro-Trump have contributed to new polls showing that Donald Trump is leading in five swing states against incumbent President Joe Biden.

On Monday, a New York Times/Siena College poll from the five swing states of Michigan, Wisconsin, Georgia, Nevada, and Arizona and an inaugural Times/Philadelphia Inquirer/Siena poll in Pennsylvania revealed that black and Hispanic voting blocs have shifted toward Trump, playing a large part in him leading in five of them.

"Trump's strength is largely thanks to gains among young, Black and Hispanic voters," wrote Nate Cohn, an NYT chief political analyst.

The leads come in part due to a shift in minority voting patterns. In the states polled, Trump had 13 percent of the non-white vote in the states during the 2020 election. According to the polls in the swing states, that number has jumped up to 19 percent of the non-white bloc to support Trump for president in 2024.

The polls for Georgia, Nevada, Arizona and Pennsylvania surveyed 4,097 registered voters from April 28 to May, with Trump leading in all of them. Biden leads with registered voters in Wisconsin, but lags behind Trump with likely voters. Biden leads with a plus 1 in Michigan over Trump.

Trump holds a lead with likely voters in Nevada over Biden by 13 points, 9 in Georgia, 6 in Arizona, 3 in Pennsylvania, and 1 in Wisconsin.

Recent polls show that Trump performs better than Biden on top issues facing voters such as the economy and immigration.
