Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene has vowed to stand against funding the office of Special Counsel Jack Smith, whose investigation has resulted in the indictment of 2024 GOP frontrunner Donald Trump over the alleged mishandling of classified documents.

"This morning, I’m writing an appropriations rider to defund Special Counsel Jack Smith’s office and entire investigation," Greene wrote.

"I will not vote for any appropriations bill to fund the weaponization of government. I hope every one of my Republican colleagues will join me," she added.

Greene’s comments come as Trump is set to appear in court on Tuesday.

The indictment charges Trump with 37 counts, which includes 31 counts of willful retention of national defense information, which carries a maximum sentence of 10 years and a $250,000.

The same day the indictment was handed down, Greene revealed that the FBI’s FD-1023 form alleging a bribery scheme involving Joe Biden during his days as vice president said the payments to the Biden family came from Burisma, the Ukrainian oil company which Hunter Biden sat on the board of.

This is a breaking story and will be updated.
