Muslim leaders in the state of Michigan have endorsed former president Donald Trump for president. The group of leaders cited Trump’s commitment to ending wars and ensuring global peace as a primary reason for their support, describing him as a leader who “promises peace, not war.”

In a show of support for former President Donald Trump, a group of Muslim leaders in Michigan officially endorsed his 2024 presidential campaign at a rally on Saturday. “The bloodshed has to stop all over the world, and I think that this man can make it happen,” said local Imam Belal Alzuhairi from the stage.

The group also voiced their approval of Trump’s immigration policies, stressing the importance of a secure border and legal immigration. “Anyone who wants to come to this country is welcome, but he has to do that through [a] legal pathway,” Alzuhairi emphasized.

In their endorsement, the group expressed optimism for Trump’s vision, declaring to the applause of the crowd, “We are with President Trump to make America great again through peace and justice for all.”

The endorsement concluded with a spirited prediction: “Michiganders, I have two predictions for you for the next six months… number one, the Detroit Lions will win the Super Bowl… the second prediction is Donald J. Trump will be the 47th president of the United States of America.”

The endorsement comes after Michigan Mayor Amer Ghalib of Hamtramck endorsed the GOP nominee for president. Hamtramck is notably the only Muslim-majority town in the US.

Mayor Bill Bazzi, the first Mulsim and Arab American elected mayor of Dearborn Heights was also present at the Michigan rally to express support for Trump.

"We're going to stop the wars, we're going to make the United States safe again, and we're going to make the world safe," Bazzi said.
