Nancy Guthrie was reported missing over a week ago.
A law enforcement source told Fox News that Guthrie’s pool cleaner, gardener, and other workers are submitting buccal swabs. Experts say the move likely means that DNA results have been returned from inside Guthrie’s house.
Randy Sutton, a retired Las Vegas police lieutenant and founder of the Wounded Blue, told the outlet, "It's significant because it reveals that they did get some DNA from inside the home or from the collection of evidence at the scene. So now they're going to be comparing that DNA to either eliminate individuals or obtain information about them."
Guthrie was reported missing by her family on February 1, after she was last seen the night before. Over a week later, the Pima County Sheriff's Office has said that it has no suspects or persons of interest identified. Investigators discovered blood on Guthrie's front porch, which was later matched to her DNA.
In a video released on Monday, Savannah Guthrie told the public, "I’m coming on just to ask you, not just for your prayers, but no matter where you are, even if you’re far from Tucson, if you see anything, you hear anything, if there’s anything at all that seems strange to you, that you report to law enforcement,” she said. “We are at an hour of desperation, and we need your help." Her video came ahead of a deadline listed in a ransom note delivered to some news outlets, which demanded $6 million in cryptocurrency.
