Viral sensation Oliver Anthony has just released a new song and it's already taking the internet by storm.

Uploaded first to his YouTube, the song is called "I Want to Go Home" and the lyrics paint a picture of an alienated, hard-working man of God, trying to make sense of a world on the brink of World War III.

The lyrics are simple yet powerful: "We’re on the brink of the next World War / and I don’t think nobody’s praying no more ... Every damn day is always some kind of bill to pay / People just doing what the rich man say."

Later he sings "People have really gone and lost their way / They all just do what the TVs say."

The Virginia farmer and musician, distinguished by his now-famous red beard, emerged from obscurity to achieve the top position on the Billboard Hot 100 chart with a track he recorded during his time in the American wilderness called "Rich Men North of Richmond."

Uploaded on August 8, the music video of the song has amassed over 33 million views on YouTube and has garnered attention from various news sources with differing political stances, with left-wing outlets often smearing him and misrepresenting his lyrics.

The video's description stated that the song aimed to inspire the working class and the average young individual who might have lost faith in the struggle to make ends meet. As a result, it has widely been embraced as a representation of populist values throughout the United States.

According to Billboard, Anthony is the first artist to launch at the top of the list with no prior chart history, and the 69th artist overall to debut a song at number one.

"Rich Men North of Richmond", which was officially released on August 11, saw 17.5 million streams and sold 147,000 downloads during the week ending in August 17.

The single has also debuted at number one on the Digital Song Sales chart and number four on Streaming Songs.

Anthony exclusively told Billboard, "The hopelessness and frustration of our times resonate in the response to this song. The song itself is not anything special, but the people who have supported it are incredible and deserve to be heard."
