Former President Donald Trump confirmed on Saturday that Nikki Haley will not be considered as a vice presidential pick in the upcoming 2024 election.
Trump made the announcement in a post on Truth Social on Saturday morning, which read, "Nikki Haley is not under consideration for the V.P. slot, but I wish her well! DJT."
The announcement comes as speculation of who he will pick as his running mate has picked up in recent weeks and after Axios published a report on Saturday claiming that Trump had Haley on his short list.
Axios claimed that two people familiar with the situation said that Trump was considering Haley as his running mate. The post from Trump on Truth Social came just a few hours later on the topic.
Those who have been floated as possibilities include Tulsi Gabbard, Doug Burgum, Ron DeSantis, and others. During a town hall meeting back in January, the former president told the audience that he knows who his VP was going to be in the upcoming election.
When he was pressed further at the time, he said that people will have to wait to find out.
Trump is expected to pick a running mate for vice president before the Republican National Convention in July.
