Stone had been suspended from the platform under the previous regime after criticizing CNN anchor Don Lemon, calling him "dumber than dog sh*t," among other names. Twitter said that his account had violated policies on abusive behavior.
"I have just been informed that my personal Twitter account has been reinstated," Stone tweeted, adding, "I'm BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACK."
"My thanks go out to Elon Musk who is a man of his word," Stone said on his show, the Stone ZONE, adding that he now firmly believed that the billionaire was "committed to free speech."
"I'm grateful to be back on Twitter," Stone continued, adding that, "you really don't appreciate free speech rights until they are taken away from you."
He pointed out that he continues to be banned from Facebook as the result of "entirely false allegations" that he had been running hundreds of fake profiles.
"I haven't had a chance to examine my Twitter feed," he continued. "I'm sure people can recognize that that was many years ago. I'm a different person today."
Stone went on to explain that he had been "redeemed in the blood of the crucifixion of Jesus Christ" and as a result had changed his life in many ways.
"I'm certain when I go back and look there are things that I said that I will regret," he continued, "but as President Richard Nixon said, 'Never look backwards, always look forward,' and that's what I intend to do."
He once again thanked Elon Musk and urged him to continue on his crusade for free speech.
The tweets that led to Stone's suspension were sent in 2017.
Twitter explained at the time that Stone had been suspended for "violating our Abusive Behavior policy."
This is a breaking story and will be updated.
