This comes after Rivas' body was found decomposing in the back of the singer's Tesla.
TMZ, citing sources familiar with the case, said that the singer is likely to be indicted by a grand jury and face murder charges. Prosecutor Beth Silverman has argued that D4vd was involved in the murder, the report stated.
Authorities have said that Rivas was known to D4vd, whose real name is David Anthony Burke. Rivas' body was discovered when police responded to a call about a "foul odor" from a vehicle after the Tesla was impounded. The car had been left on the side of the road in Hollywood.
When the discovery of Rivas' body was made, the singer was on tour. However, some subsequent tour events were canceled after he became connected to the case.
Police searched the singer's home after they made the discovery of Rivas' body, which was dismembered and authorities have said that there may have been more than one person involved in the killing.
D4vd has become considered a suspect in the murder and the head of the singer's touring company Robert Morgenroth, was grilled by prosecutors earlier in December on his involvement with the singer.
D4vid initially cooperated with authorities in the case but canceled tour dates as the probe intensified with his connection to Rivas. The singer originally grew his audience on TikTok and has 4 million followers.
The Los Angeles Police Department has yet to publicly disclose charges, and the investigation into the homicide is ongoing.
