President Trump has raised $7 million for his 2024 presidential election campaign since being criminally charged by President Biden's Department of Justice for allegedly mishandling classified documents.

In an email sent to supporters on Wednesday, Trump's official campaign wrote, "President Trump Raises Over $6.6 Million and Counting Since Deranged Jack Smith Announced Political Prosecution."

Following the court appearance, Trump's election campaign held a donor fundraising event at Trump's Bedminster Club in New Jersey and raised $2.1 million. Another $4.5 million was raised digitally, according to Reuters.

A spokesperson for Trump later confirmed to Reuters that the amount raised has surpassed $7 million.

On Tuesday, President Trump plead not guilty to all 37 federal charges brought against him by Biden's DOJ alleging mishandling of classified documents that were found at his personal Mar-A-Lago residence.

In August, the DOJ employed the FBI to seize 11 boxes of documents from Trump's Mar-a-Lago home, and then claimed that Trump was impeding their investigation. The DOJ did not permit Trump's attorney to be present during the search and seizure.

Trump was arraigned on the 37 charges which include; 31 counts of willful retention of national defense information, one count of conspiracy to obstruct justice, one count of withholding a document or record, one count of corruptly concealing a document or record, one count of concealing a document in a federal investigation, one count of scheme to conceal, and one count of false statements and representations.

US Magistrate Judge Jonathan Goodman issued no conditions for release, as well as no bond or travel restrictions.
