"She had no votes."
"She had no votes, no support, and she was a bad debater, by the way, very bad debater. And that's not the thing I'm looking forward to, but she was a bad debater. She did obviously a bad job. She never made it to Iowa."
The comments come from Trump after announced that he has agreed to three debates against Harris in September. "She was the first loser when, during the primary system. During the Democrat primary system, she was the first one to quit, and she quit."
In 2024, she became the Democrat nominee for president without having run in the primaries. Harris secured the nomination in a virtual "roll call" held by the DNC among delegates who were slated to vote for Joe Biden.
Trump pointed to this as well, saying that Biden still wanted to run after the debate but then dropped out after pressure came against him from Democrats. Trump added, “They were going to go through a primary system, a quick primary system, which it would have to be. And then it all disappeared, and they just picked [Harris].”
Trump added during the presser that the presidency was essentially "taken away from Joe Biden" and that he had a "right to run" for the position. After giving his presser, Trump answered several questions from reporters, speaking about his record as well as support that he gets at rallies around the US.
The GOP nominee also spoke about how he will be doing an interview with Elon Musk next Monday.
