One America News Network’s Chanel Rion was banned from White House coronavirus press briefings yesterday by the WHCA, but she has been invited back by White House Press Secretary Stephanie Grisham.

In an interview with OANN, Rion revealed that she was said to have been violating social distancing guidelines by standing in the room when she was not allowed to. She said that "if you look at footage of that briefing room, photographers are standing in that pathway. For the most part, you see a lot of them getting a lot closer than six feet, and then for my positioning in that room, I was away from the majority of the people the majority of the time."

She goes on to say "I spoke with Stephanie Grisham this morning, we discussed the situation, and she invited me again to attend the briefing today as her guest, standing in the back. And I will be in the briefing room as long as there's no physical complications with that. She has stated explicitly that she had invited me in both instances, both yesterday and the day before, when we [OANN] was not on rotation."

She noted that while there is not an official White House statement as yet, "there's some rumblings happening between these various organizations as they discuss what exactly are the rules in that room and who controls it."

Rion’s ejection from the briefings came after it was alleged by Jonathan Karl and the White House Correspondents Association, of which he is president, that OANN was not permitted in the briefing room due to a rotation schedule meant to enforce social distancing.

While it was the social distancing norms that the White House Correspondents Association claimed were the reason for Rion and OANN's dismissal from briefings, the fact that OANN has been directly invited by the Press Secretary certainly must rancour with a news media that is used to pushing its own agenda.

However, Rion had been invited by the Press Secretary, who clearly did not take kindly to OANN’s ejection from briefings.

Mainstream media has been at the very least unpleasant and more often than not hostile to OANN for their perceived bias in favour of the Trump administration, clearly blind to their own bias against the President.

CNN has been particularly vitriolic and adversarial to OANN, as well as to the White House. On Tuesday night, CNN refused to air President Trump’s coronavirus task force briefing live, opting instead for a delayed broadcast.

CNN is anxious to maintain their dwindling credibility and in so doing they are dismissive, often going so far as to be aggressive and adversarial to Rion, OANN, and the smaller networks that are gaining an ever increasing foothold on territory that the big networks once believed was theirs alone.
