California black radical profs say students must 'get ready for war,' 'f*ck up' ICE agents

Two far-left California professors are facing backlash after making comments calling for violence against Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents. 

Cal State LA professor Melina Abdullah, who teaches Pan-African Studies, spoke at the La Defensa del Pueblo Summit on Sunday, an event intended to “unite diverse sectors of society in defense of civil liberties, democratic rights, immigrant communities, and all people targeted by policies of repression and exclusion.” During the event, Abdullah took aim at a specific ICE agent in the city, showing a photograph and referring to him as a “pig.”

She doxxed the agent, saying the "killer ICE agent" was staying at a nearby hotel, "and we’ll show you a picture of his pig-a**,” Abdullah said.

“Sometimes it’s just do this sh*t. You see the devil right there, f*ck him up,” she continued, naming the address of the hotel the agent was staying at. “F*ck him up. F*ck him up. I’m sorry, I’m already on the motherf*cking list.”

Abdullah also promoted a book by George Jackson, the co-founder of the Black Guerrilla Family prison gang. She encouraged attendees to study “guerrilla warfare.”

Last week, UC Santa Barbara associate professor Butch Ware expressed a similar sentiment while speaking at the Marxism Conference in Chicago on Saturday. Ware, the former Green Party vice-presidential candidate, told audience members to prepare for war.

“Y’all ain’t dreamed big enough yet,” he said. “Some of these clickety-clack revolutionaries have never been in a  f*cking gunfight, but some of us that grew up in the hood know what guns are like.”

“You are ready for a war in the streets. No, you ain’t. Y’all ain’t nowhere near ready for a war in the streets. You better get ready for both kinds of war, and if you stay ready, you ain’t got to get ready,” he added.

Ware also called for Democrats to be “destroyed,” saying that New York City socialist Mayor Zohran Mamdani and Michigan Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed were “there to contain radicalism.”

According to a report by the California Post, the Los Angeles district attorney’s office is investigating whether any laws were breached by Abdullah’s comments. 

Abdullah’s remarks also drew criticism from politicians, including Los Angeles GOP chairwoman Roxanne Hoge.

“Is there anyone at [the California Democratic Party] [Los Angeles Democratic Party] who will disavow such rhetoric?” Hoge wrote on X. “Remember ‘turning down the temperature’ after our [president] was shot and [Charlie Kirk] was assassinated? Sure would be nice if someone did that—maybe I missed it.”
