Canadian public employees' union celebrates Hamas terrorist attack in Israel

President of CUPE Ontario Fred Hahn also posted a graphic with a rallying cry for pro-Palestinian activists.

The Canadian Union of Public Employees has again roused the fury of Canadians for taking a radical political stand. This time local 3906, representing over 3,000 taxpayer-funded employees in the Hamilton area, made a since-deleted post on X Saturday in response to the Hamas invasion of Israel.

“Palestine is rising, long live the resistance.”

Accompanying this call to arms for an execrable terrorist organization was this completely dissonant quotation that someone equated the murder of women and children to “love.”

CUPE cited a quote from writer Ghassan Kanafani, which stated, “Everything in this world can be robbed and stolen, except one thing; this one thing is the love that emanates from a human being towards a solid commitment to a conviction or cause.”

The tweet prompted a torrent of angry posts. We shall let this particular response represent the general level of outrage from those wondering how and why a government union thinks it has any business inserting itself into the conflict on the side of killers.

“F*ck you CUPE,” posted one account.

Hahn also shared posts saying that the support for Israel is immoral, calling the government of that attacked nation a "far-right racist extremist government."

The public service union has become a cheering section for terrorists and an advocate for killing Israeli civilians. While they deleted the post, it is clear that they stood by what they wrote and were simply not prepared for the backlash it elicited. CUPE was okay celebrating the vicious and homicidal anti-Semitism of the pro-Palestinian activists, but they were not okay being called out on it.

CUPE is essentially a Trudeau government-backed Marxist organization that requires dues from government employees and then actively fights against Canadian interests.

Unions were previously controlled by organized crime, but has now been taken over by woke Marxists. Robert F. Kennedy courageously attacked the infiltration of unions by organized crime in a book entitled, The Enemy Within and as the special counsel for the Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations.

Unions today continue to work for an agenda that has little do with the interests of its members.

Unions today have become captive to extremist ideology and run by a woke leadership that is utterly out of touch with much of its membership. Members of CUPE are put in a position where they must posture as LGBTQ activists, plotting against parents and issuing euphoric declarations of support for human garbage like Hamas terrorists.

CUPE was one of the unions present for a Sept. 16 Zoom call to organize “counter-protests” for the 1 Million March for Children, which happened on Sept. 20.

Ontario Federation of Labour (OFL) President Patty Coates chaired the secret call. Ontario Federation of Labour Executive Director Rob Helming promised maximum discretion for those present, saying that the recording of the meeting was made for the purpose of minute-taking only, and that it would be deleted.

The union reps called parents "fascists" and said their opposition to gender ideology was based on "hate." The many union representatives who participated in the call all appeared to be in agreement.

CUPE ascribed the concept of "love" to Hamas terrorists, and the concept of "hate" to parents fighting for their right to raise their children without gender indoctrination.

Hamas attacked Israel over the weekend Sabbath during the religious holiday of Succot. That attack was planned in coordination with Iran, the Wall Street Journal revealed, and Iran green-lit the attack last week. Hundreds are dead, thousands wounded, and many have been kidnapped and are missing. The attack came across the border from Gaza by land, sea and air. Paratroopers were dropped into a desert music festival where 20-somethings danced all night. They kidnapped many, left 260 dead at the site, raped women next to the corpses of their friends, and many are still missing.

Reports emerged from Israel of terrorists breaking into homes and taking children, including toddlers. Parents pleaded for their return as other videos emerged showing women and men being taken and murdered by terrorists. Israel has called up 300,000 military reservists globally to fight and defend the nation.

As the Times of Israel reported, “A compilation of clips released by Hamas shows how the terror group invaded southern Israel yesterday and carried out its vast, murderous attack, killing some 500 civilians and soldiers, and kidnapping dozens more to the Gaza Strip.”

Hamas is recognized by Canada as a terrorist organization. But the CBC has issued instructions to its journalists not to refer to “militants, soldiers or anyone else as ‘terrorists.’” The leaked memo is further evidence that Canada’s state broadcaster has an enormous political agenda in its reporting and is clearly going to turn a blind eye to the murder of innocents.

CUPE has been an appendage of the Liberal Party for decades and is now a faithful apologist for the Trudeau government.
