A live transmission from Dutch media outlet NOS was interrupted on Friday when a Chinese police officer approached and began physically pushing the reporter out of the camera frame.

"When you think of the Beijing Olympics, remember it's 'TOGETHER FOR a shared future,' unless you're this journalist who was just dragged away by commie goons," tweeted RealClearNews White House correspondent Philip Wegmann.

NOS itself stated in its tweet: "Our correspondent @sjoerddendaas was pulled away from the camera live in the NOS Journaal at 12pm by security guards. Unfortunately, this is increasingly becoming a daily reality for journalists in China. He is fine and was able to finish his story a few minutes later."

In the video, that is exactly what is seen. The journalist starts speaking and he is immediately accosted by a police officer. The officer, without any preamble, simply physically forces the reporter away.

There is growing concern about having an event of the magnitude of the Olympics being held in a country as authoritarian as China.

India on Friday just announced another in a string of diplomatic boycotts of the games, due to actions on China's part. Other countries such as Canada and the US have taken similar actions.

Many human rights groups have expressed that the boycotts should be total and not merely diplomatic, due to evidence of egregious human rights abuses by China's government.
