CNN's Brian Stelter admitted that he is a "useful idiot" on Sunday in response to a FOX News article slamming the anchor for taking aim at parents' rights during a "Reliable Sources" panel.
"I'm a 'useless idiot,'" Fox says, but I must be "useful" for page views..." Stelter said in a post on Twitter.

According to the Merriam-Webster Dictionary, the term useful idiot is defined as "a naive or credulous person who can be manipulated or exploited to advance a cause or political agenda."
Brian Stelter claimed that the term "parents' rights" is a "political slogan" being used as a front to keep the history of racism from being taught in classrooms.
What Stelter was referring to is critical race theory (CRT) which is the theory that that America was founded on racism and is still an essentially racist nation.
During the panel, CNN political analyst Natasha Alford said, "These are America's issues with race and identity and the sort of this moral outrage that just gets repackaged for a new era."
Stelter responded, "Hold on, so you're saying when the top issue is called 'education,' the top issue is race."
Last week on-air, Stelter had what some would describe as a "meltdown" when he discussed the possibility of former President Donald Trump running in the 2024 Presidential Election.
