SNL star says jokes about Biden’s debate performance are ‘cruel’ and ‘dangerous’

Not only did Hammond call criticism of Biden's physical and cognitive health "cruel" and "unfunny," the comedian claimed that mocking Trump's mannerisms is "dangerous" because it humanizes him when the country should be focused on Trump's prior comments about wanting to become "a dictator," per the outlet.

Hammond said Trump's playbook is humor and it's "dangerous" to think the former president is funny.

"We all love to crack jokes about dumb Donald Trump, his dopey hair, and then how much he misstates the truth. We all like to make jokes about it. It's an automatic joke at a cocktail party and I don't think it should be anymore because look where we are now," said Hammond in a video obtained by TMZ.

Hammond went on to claim that he is "afraid" of Trump supporters because "they hurt people and they don't mind doing it." He referenced the January 6 riot at the US Capitol but failed to mention the many months of violent rioting carried out by BLM and Antifa with support from the Democrats in the summer of 2020.

While Hammond hasn't played Trump in a couple of years, "Saturday Night Live" will more than likely return to its past time and perform presidential debate skits during its upcoming 50th season. The comedian said he believes the creator of SNL, Lorne Michaels, would find a way to appropriately add humor that wouldn't disparage Biden or paint Trump in a humorous light.
