After Joe Biden's disastrous debate with Donald Trump on Thursday night, prominent liberal media members and pundits suggested that the replacement of Biden on the Democratic Party's presidential ticket may be at hand. By all accounts, Biden appeared feeble and, at times, incoherent in the debate with Trump.

Andrew Yang, who ran for president as a Democrat in 2020, wrote, "Look I debated Joe 7 times in 2020. He’s a different guy in 2024. #swapJoeout."

MSNBC host Joy Reid said that during the debate, her phone was blowing up with Democrats and political operatives messaging her and that the "universal reaction was somewhere approaching panic."

"The people who were texting with me were very concerned about President Biden seeming extremely feeble, seeming extremely weak." Reid then added that after the debate tonight, the Democratic Party doesn't believe that he can be the one to represent "the real working-class white guy" in the party's base.

On CNN, Abby Phillip said, "The panic that I am hearing from the Democrats is not like anything I have heard. The real concern here tonight is that there's been some real damage done that cannot be undone."

Phillip added that "Biden's answers were in a lot of cases not coherent." She added that Biden fumbled over his words and brought up topics in the debate and "teed up Trump attacks" on him.

Van Jones said that Biden had a "test to meet" in order to restore confidence in the base of the Democrat Party. However, Jones added, Biden "failed to do that" and then added that there will be a "lot of people who want to see him consider taking a different course now" before the election. He also said that the party should figure out a "different way forward" before the election.
