The Daily Wire launches ‘Terror on the Prairie’ with red carpet premiere

Gina Carano, Nick Searcy, Cowboy Cerrone, Tyler Fischer, Gabriel-Kane Day-Lewis, Heath Freeman, Samaire Armstrong, Travis Mills, Matthias Hues, Rhys Becker, Izzy Marshall, Jeremy Gauna, and Thomas White Eagle star in this western thriller, infusing new energy into the dying classical genre.

In addition to starring in the film, Carano also served as an executive producer alongside Daily Wire co-founders Jeremy Boreing, Ben Shapiro, and Caleb Robinson. To bring this authentic period piece to life, The Daily Wire collaborated with Bonfire Legend producers Dallas Sonnier and Amanda Presmyk, and veteran filmmaker Michael Polish from a script by Josiah Nelson.

Terror on the Prairie brilliantly succeeds at bringing the classically American western back to the big screen, an endeavor at which Hollywood has failed repeatedly. Where Hollywood once celebrated its golden age creating westerns, in recent decades its attempts at reviving the genre have relied on gimmicks, special effects, and big names, only to be met with disastrous results at the box office.

The red carpet event began with all of the glamour and none of the ostentation of a Hollywood affair. The lobby was full of buzz in anticipation for Gina Carano’s big-screen return.

Familiar faces Benny Johnson, Matt Walsh, Robby Starbuck, Zuby, Amir Odom, and Brett Cooper were a few of the big names present, as well as the cast and producers who each took their turn walking down the red carpet, stopping for photos and interviews.

After everyone was in their seats, producer Dallas Sonnier took to the front of the crowded theater alongside Gina Carano, to speak a few words about the film.

"This is the opportunity of a lifetime, folks. It’s time to build our future, time to become legends," said Sonnier before introducing Gina Carano.

Carano began by describing how she felt after Hollywood ousted her over her innocuous social media posts, "It was scary, it was lonely. But tonight, all of you who showed up and are showing so much support and love, it doesn’t feel so lonely anymore."

With a message of optimism Carano continued, "All of the creators out there, I would say, create like crazy. Art is free. Hollywood does not own art."

Shot over the course of a few months near Bozeman, Montana, this film is the latest offering from The Daily Wire's new entertainment division. Set in 1872, during the Reconstruction era following the Civil War, the film follows a pioneering family settled in the Great Plains of Montana. Hattie McAllister, played by Carano, is confronted by a gang of outlaws while her husband, played by Cowboy Cerrone, has gone into town. Hattie is quick to realize that these strangers mean to do her family harm and must defend the homestead.

In a tense scene, Carano’s character triumphantly overpowers her attacker, and a member of the audience shouts, “That’s what you call a woman!” as a nod to The Daily Wire’s hit documentary, “What is a Woman?” The moviegoers erupt with laughter and applause at the reference.
