Major Democrat donors have threatened to pull funding from Biden’s presidential campaign if he doesn’t end his reelection bid. This comes after Biden’s dismal performance at CNN’s debate on Thursday evening which left many reeling.

Whitney Tilson, a major Democratic donor and former hedge fund manager who has given the party over $300,000 in recent years, told the Daily Mail, "For Biden's own good and the good of the country, he should step aside immediately. The fact that it has now been three days and Biden has done nothing to reassure us confirms my worst fears."

One guest who attended a Biden campaign fundraiser on Saturday in Long Island said that the president read a 15-minute speech from a teleprompter and left without taking questions. "Doing that for the next five months is not going to be enough," the guest said.

John Verdejo, a party member from North Carolina who was present for a conference call on Saturday evening with DNC Chairman Jaime Harrison and Biden campaign manager Julie Chavez Rodriguez, said that "the call was akin to a rah-rah-speech," adding that the organizers failed to address the "elephant in the room."

In a memo released over the weekend, chair of the Biden-Harris 2024 campaign said, "On every metric that matters, data shows [the debate] did nothing to change the American people's perception." Tilson said of the memo, "They’re p*ssing on our legs and telling us it’s raining. It’s insulting. How stupid do they think we are?"

"The data!?  If there is data that counters the impact of what we all saw then WHERE THE HELL IS IT???  WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU WAITING FOR?? SHOW US! Jesus Christ with the gaslighting, the talking points, and the damn spinning. Enough already," wrote Mike LaRosa, the former Press Secretary for Jill Biden.

Brett Bruen, a former White House advisor, said that "The donors are the canaries in the political coal mine. As polls in the last day have indicated, there are reverberations from Biden's performance up and down the ticket. The notion that it gets messy if Biden steps aside overlooks the fact that it's already a big freaking mess."

Democrats have insited for many months that Biden is the right man to lead the party and the nation. He has won the Democrat Party primaries across the country and wracked up the delegates needed to secure his party's nomination. If he were to be replaced, many Demcorat voters across the US would see their votes cast aside and a nomination made without their input.
