Dem ex-campaign staffer calls for 'trans jihad,' urges followers to 'kill your local Republican' in Wisconsin

A transgender activist who volunteered for a Democratic congressional campaign in Wisconsin is facing backlash after posting a series of videos calling for violence against Republicans and urging supporters to wage what was described as a "trans jihad."

Teha Delaruelle, who previously volunteered for Democratic Socialist congressional candidate Katrina DeVille's campaign, appeared in one video seated in front of a whiteboard bearing the message, "Kill your local Republican." "We're going to make this the moderate position for the state of Wisconsin," Delaruelle said in the video, pointing at the whiteboard message. "But I need your help, because we have one month to do this." The apparent reference was to Wisconsin's Aug. 11 Democratic primary, where DeVille is seeking her party's nomination to challenge Republican Rep. Tony Wied, per the New York Post.

In another video posted to social media, Delaruelle declared, "Just a reminder, we are doing trans jihad," while an edited image featuring a transgender pride flag and a rifle appeared on screen. Delaruelle went on to say supporters should make "the animals that make up MAGA" afraid to walk in public. "We're gonna make it so that they will be the ones that have to walk down the streets in fear, anxiety, and worry," Delaruelle said. "This is their new reality. And it's never gonna change."

In a Substack post published earlier this month, Delaruelle described what was characterized as an ongoing "genocide" against transgender people and called for a "Trans Jihad." "Society desires nothing less than our total extermination, therefore we must destroy their society," he wrote. "We must answer this call to an existential struggle, our jihad."

In an apparent attempt to save face. DeVille's campaign team said Delaruelle only volunteered with them for a brief period. "She was a campaign volunteer for a very short while," DeVille herself said in a statement. "When it became apparent that she was deeply troubled and was actively creating a dangerous situation around my campaign, she was removed from the campaign and blocked from all of my accounts and pages."

DeVille condemned the rhetoric. "The threats she has posed have also made my life more dangerous," she said, hoping that Delaruelle "is able to get help and find peace" and that "no one becomes hurt or endangered from this senseless situation."
