Both Blanche and Mullin spoke about the administration’s efforts to bring human traffickers to justice.
Mullin, for his part, addressed the thousands of children who went missing under the Biden administration.
“When we start digging into these cases and you start hearing the absolute horrific things that took place under the Biden administration — under true neglect at best and criminal at worst — to allow 450,000 kids to go missing throughout this country,” he said. “President Trump has made it a point to go find these kids. Because of our partnership with HHS and DOJ, the Department of Homeland Security is truly using the best of the best.”
Mullin then went on to speak of the children the administration found and spoke of their harrowing experiences.
“We found 146,000 kids so far,” the secretary said. “146,000 kids so far. Some of these kids claimed they were raped 600 to 700 times. I don't care who you are. I don't care if you have kids or don't have kids. I don't care if you are a liberal, independent, Democrat, or Republican. If you can't stand for law enforcement to go find these kids, who are you? Who are you? Every leader should understand what's going on.”
Mullin continued, saying that most of the children have been found in sanctuary cities, as well as traffickers.
"Do you know we're finding most of them? Sanctuary cities, because they know they're safe. That's why they're called sanctuary cities. Because of President Trump's leadership, we're going into those sanctuary cities. We have mayors like Mamdani in New York who want to say you're not welcome. As a mayor, he knows what's happening on his own streets, he knows who he's harboring, and at this point in abetting by saying that we can't go operate. We're going to go find the worst of the worst, we're going to rescue as many kids as we possibly can. We're going to enforce our nation's laws, and we're going to right the wrongs that the Biden administration turned a blind eye to."
This comes as Democrats recently voted against funding for DHS in the $70 billion immigration bill that passed on party lines. The legislation would protect funding for DHS until the end of President Trump's term in 2029.
Democratic Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries railed against funding for the department.
“Republicans have decided to continue to waste taxpayer dollars to jam Donald Trump’s extreme right-wing ideology down the throats of the American people. And so, as Democrats, we rise in strong opposition to this Republican scheme. Waste of taxpayer dollars,” he said.
