"The goal all along has been to import as many illegal voters as possible."
After the Biden White House came out against the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act, a bill that would ensure illegal immigrants and non-citizens do not vote in federal elections across the United States, Elon Musk slammed the Biden administration for coming out against the measure.
In a post, Musk wrote in response to House Speaker Mike Johnson, "The goal all along has been to import as many illegal voters as possible."
Johnson had said in response to the Biden administration's response to the bill, "Why are Democrats so adamantly against ensuring only American citizens vote in our elections? They want to turn illegal aliens into voters. We must pass the SAVE Act to prevent this."
When the statement from the Biden administration was released, Musk responded to it with an ellipsis.
White House officials released the statement, which said, "The Administration strongly opposes HR 8281," the office wrote. "It is already illegal for noncitizens to vote in Federal elections–it is a Federal crime punishable by prison and fines." However, the SAVE Act would require voters to use proof of citizenship when they register to vote across the country. Voter ID laws and other similar measures are not used in multiple states.
Turning Point USA CEO and Founder Charlie Kirk responded to Musk's post, saying, "Elon Musk is right, anyone who is against the SAVE Act, which requires proof of citizenship to vote, is a traitor to America. What other possible explanation is there besides Democrats want illegals to vote? Democrats and Joe Biden are an existential threat to America."
Utah Senator Mike Lee posted in reaction to Musk's position on the issue as well: "I love it when Elon Musk agrees with me. And he definitely agrees that Congress must pass the SAVE Act. He also agrees that there are no good arguments against requiring proof of citizenship to vote in federal elections."
Recent reports have revealed that in many states throughout the US, non-citizens are able to obtain voter registrations forms when they apply for welfare benefits or if they apply for drivers' licenses at the DMV.
