Extinction Rebellion, a militant environmentalist organization, broke into a car dealership in Montreal on Saturday morning and almost managed to tow away several vehicles.

The activists broke into the dealership dressed in blue uniforms with homemade insignia declaring them to be from the "Ministry of the New Normal". They wrapped the vehicles in yellow tape like that used by the police before trying to tow them away.

According to CTV News Montreal, a spokesperson for the group claimed the following:

"We need to get rid of these vehicles as soon as possible because they are a public health hazard. We think it's really critical to get them off the road when we are in the midst of a climate crisis."

Marvin Andrade, the director of finances for the dealership, figured out what was going on and managed to stop the tow truck driver before the vehicles were hauled away. He later told the press:

"Everyone has the right to express their opinions, but to do things like this, I don't think it's the right way to defend your cause."

The activists, after having been "busted", left the scene without further incident.

Extinction Rebellion is famous for it's high-profile tactics. They've famously done things like block traffic on major Toronto arteries in an attempt to raise awareness about issues important to them.
