In response to the growing hashtag #TrumpPants that insists former President Donald Trump wore his pants backwards to the North Carolina GOP convention, the popular fact-checking site Snopes has issued the rating that the claim is false.

"Former U.S. President Donald Trump wore his pants backwards during the June 2021 North Carolina Republican Party convention in Greenville, North Carolina," Snopes wrote was the claim they were checking.

Numerous tabloids and Twitter users mocked Trump for photos that came from the event seemingly showing him wearing his pants backwards.

One user, New York Daily News columnist Brandon Friedman wrote "others are noting this, but it can’t be shared enough: Donald Trump gave his big speech today with his pants on backwards. Look close and tell me I’m wrong."

He added, "If this turns out to be a fake video I’m gonna be so mad."

"Snopes looked through photographs taken at the event and published by the visual media company Getty Images that clearly show the former president on stage wearing pants with a zipper in the front," wrote Snopes. "A video posted by C-SPAN of the 90-minute speech also showed the former president wearing pants the right way. As such, we rate this claim as 'False.'"
