“Hamas uses it as a rallying cry. And they don’t simply want to displace Jews in Israel. They want Jews dead.”

Democrats are calling out one of their own, Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI), after she claimed that a chant for genocide against Jews, "From the river to the sea," was an "…aspirational call for freedom, human rights, and peaceful coexistence."

On Friday, the radical Squad member posted a video on X attacking President Joe Biden for his support of the Jewish state which featured the call for ethnic cleansing of Jews from Israel.

In response to the backlash, the Jew-hating Democratic congresswoman added, "From the river to the sea is an aspirational call for freedom, human rights, and peaceful coexistence, not death, destruction, or hate. My work and advocacy is always centered in justice and dignity for all people no matter faith or ethnicity."

StopAntisemitism posted in response to Tlaib’s bogus explanation that the phrase refers to "…the full erasure of the Jewish state, from Jordan River to the Mediterranean Sea," adding that the chant is Hamas’ battle cry, noting "You echo terrorists."

Fellow Democrats, including ones from her state, turned on Tlaib for her genocidal rhetoric.

Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel posted on Saturday, "@RashidaTlaib, I have supported and defended you countless times, even when you have said the indefensible because I believed you to be a good person whose heart was in the right place. But this is so hurtful to so many. Please retract this cruel and hateful remark."

Rep. Elissa Slotkin (D-MI) posted on X, "The phrase ‘from the river to the sea’ is one of division & violence, & it is counterproductive to promoting peace. None of us, especially elected leaders, should amplify language that inflames a tense situation & makes it harder for our communities to find common ground."

Slotkin continued, "If I knew that a phrase I’d used had hurt any of my constituents, I would apologize and retract it, no matter its origin. I’d ask the same from you."

Michigan’s State Senate Democratic President Pro Tempore Jeremy Moss, tweeted, “Hamas uses it as a rallying cry. And they don’t simply want to displace Jews in Israel. They want Jews dead.”

State Rep. Noah Arbit (D-West Bloomfield) asked how Tlaib could represent her Jewish constituents after calling for their deaths. “It is disturbing and enraging that Jewish communities in Southfield, Franklin, Bingham Farms, Beverly Hills and beyond are represented by someone who adopts wholesale the call for the State of Israel to be wiped from the map, necessitating the elimination of 8 million Jews.”

Sen. Jacky Rosen (D-NV) posted on the platform, "‘From the river to the sea’ is a call for eliminating the state of Israel that rejects a two-state solution & puts Jews in danger. We must reject extremism, no matter which side of the aisle it comes from. America’s support for Israel remains unwavering."
