DeSantis and Musk will host a Twitter spaces with the special announcement.
The discussion between DeSantis and Musk is set to begin at 6 pm on Twitter Spaces, the social media site's platform for audio chats, and will be moderated by tech entrepenuer David Sacks, who is both a DeSantis supporter and personal friend to the Twitter CEO, NBC reports.
DeSantis is expected to make his long awaited launch of his presidential campaign witha video, and the Florida governor will begin visiting battleground states early next week. DeSantis has already been on a book tour and visited New Hampshire and Iowa, the two early primary and caucus states.
Musk has stated his support for DeSantis and said last year that he would support a DeSantis bid if he were to run for president in 2024.
DeSantis' campaign team has been in discussions with Musk over the past several weeks, and during conversations, and told NBC that Musk doesn't think President Trump, who announced his bid for president in November 2022, can take the win in 2024. This despite recent polls showing Trump beating both DeSantis and Biden in winning back the White House.
Since purchasing Twitter for $44 billion last year, Elon Musk has made it his mission to turn Twitter into the number one social media platform in the world, and spent no time enhancing the website with one of its upgrades being Twitter Spaces.
This is a breaking story and will be updated.
