Florida trans student tased after freaking out, screaming at police, demanding to be called 'she'

Recently released viral body cam footage from Youtube channel Inside The Blue TV shows a screaming trans-identified, blue-haired University of Florida student being hauled away after the law enforcement arrived at campus for an unrelated call.

The footage recorded on Feb. 5, 2025, but released Friday begins with the 27-year-old student, identified as Jarrett Vick, yelling at an officer.

"Why do you let those pigs get away with this? They are not supposed to be here," Vick shouts before the officer warns him to lower his voice or risk being placed in handcuffs. Vick responded by accusing the officer of threatening him which led the officer to request additional officers over radio saying that Vick was “having a breakdown.”

Things escalated after Vick continually demanded officers use female pronouns yelling "She! She! Just say the right pronoun!" Officers ordered Vick to calm down as one drew pepper spray. At another point, Vick begged university employees to tell law enforcement to use right pronouns because it was causing him "a lot of distress.” Vick ignored the constant commands by officers to comply and continued yelling and refusing officers orders.

The encounter eventually turned physical, with other officers deploying a taser before taking Vick into custody. According to officers who were heard on the body cam footage Vick allegedly resisted officers by swinging at them with a closed fist, grabbing an officer's microphone and kicking another during a struggle. Body cam footage shows the 27-year-old placed in the back of a patrol video.

Court records show Vick, of Treasure Island, Florida, was charged with battery on a law enforcement officer, resisting arrest, and disorderly conduct. He pleaded not guilty to all three charges. The cases are listed as closed in Orange County court records.

Vick is listed as male in arrest records. When contacted by the New York Post, Vick said he was "being f*cking harassed by the cops" and blamed law enforcement for the media attention surrounding the incident.
