On Monday, former CIA Director Michael Hayden appeared to call for the assassination of Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-AL) for blocking military confirmations.

Hayden was one of the 51 intelligence experts who falsely claimed that Hunter Biden’s laptop was Russian disinformation.

The retired US intelligence official made the statement in response to a user on X who asked if Tuberville should be “removed from his committee.”

Hayden answered, “How about the human race?”

As a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, for months Tuberville has blocked bulk confirmations for hundreds of military officers in order to protest a Pentagon policy that pays for troops’ out-of-state travel for medical services, including abortion.

As a result, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) is forced to send some promotions to the full Senate floor for votes.

Hayden, who was also the director of the National Security Agency and oversaw the agency’s mass surveillance program on US citizens, tweeted in May 2022, “Tommy Tuberville is an idiot!“ in response to a video of Tuberville asking Avril Haines, the Director of National Intelligence about US involvement in Ukraine’s efforts to repel Russia’s invasion.

Last month Hayden posted “Tuberville absolutely is a racist” and in August signed an open letter calling Tuberville’s protest “reckless.”
