"President Xi, who I know you go way back with, have you had a chance to ask him if reports are true that China maybe misled the world at the beginning?" Doocy asked.

President Joe Biden gave remarks on Tuesday afternoon as regards the vaccine rollout, and as he finished, Fox News' Peter Doocy confronted Biden as to the origins of the COVID-19 coronavirus.

Biden had taken his final question when Doocy asked "You mentioned 554,064 American dead from COVID-19. A lot of Americans want to know how this happened, how it got here. Have you had a chance to speak to any of your international partners?

"President Xi, who I know you go way back with, have you had a chance to ask him if reports are true that China maybe misled the world at the beginning?" Doocy asked.

"No," Biden replied, "I have not had that conversation with President Xi. Thank you."

Biden left the podium and did not answer further questions.

The World Health Organization recently delayed the release of a report on the origins of the coronavirus that determined that the pathogen had originated not in a lab but in animals, and it was not conclusive about how it was transmitted to humans.
