UMass running back killed by Nigerian illegal alien: report

The suspect arrested for stabbing two UMass Dartmouth football players over the weekend, killing one and injuring another, has been identified as a Nigerian national illegally in the US that overstayed a visa.

Chukwunonso Uzoma David Uzoma Eze, 19, has been charged with the murder of UMass Dartmouth freshman running back Marvins Antoine. The second player, Kensley Macean, 19, had stab wounds on his head and neck and was taken to the hospital.

Eze first entered the US on a B-2 tourist visa in 2015, according to sources who spoke with Fox News' Bill Melugin. Eze got two extensions for the visa under the Obama administration, and his visa eventually expired. The Biden administration also approved Eze's request for deferred action concerning his removal from the country. He again applied for deferred action in February of 2025, and the request was approved in October 2025. 

Although deferred action delays removal from the country, it does not give an illegal immigrant legal status in the US. If Eze is convicted of the murder, he will not be eligible for the deferred action status. The stabbing took place in Providence, Rhode Island at around 12:30 am on Saturday in a parking lot outside a Wendy's.

"There was an altercation between a female and some of the victims that were in line," Providence Police Chief Oscar Perez said on Saturday morning. "And then the altercation moved over to the parking lot of the Wendy's but we have no indication that they knew each other."

Flock cameras were used to identify Eze after he fled the scene of the crime.
