In a Wednesday press conference, authorities in Rhode Island revealed that they have not interviewed the students who were inside the classroom at Brown University when a gunman opened fire, killing two and injuring nine others. They have not even identified who they all are or how many there were in the lecture hall econ study session on Saturday.

Providence Police Chief Oscar Perez was asked by a reporter whether the gunman, who is still at large, came into the classroom from the back "so these people never knew," or from the front in full view of those who were attending the study hall, as well as how many people were in the room at the time.

Perez replied, "that’s all part of the interviews and actually we’re cooperating with Brown to get the roster. That was a study hall so we don’t have the number. We’re still getting information as far as who was there. I know Brown sent out an email to the students to notify us if they were present and we’re still getting that. So I can’t give you an exact account now."

On Saturday evening, a gunman entered a classroom in an engineering building on campus where a study hall was taking place and opened fire, killing sophomore Ella Cook, freshman Mukhammad Aziz Umurzokov and injuring nine others. The gunman fled, and has not yet been located by authorities.

Authorities have released numerous videos and images of the suspected gunman from the area of Brown University and have uged residents who may have additional footage to submit it. The FBI is offering a reward of up to $50,000 for information that leads to the identification, arrest, and conviction of the person responsible. The footage does not clearly show the suspected gunman's face.

On Wednesday, police released images of a person of interest that was seen "in proximity" of the suspected gunman, seeking the person’s identification so they can speak with them. This is the third person of interest they have looked for. The first was released and the second two are at large.
