A Gallup poll released on Tuesday has revealed that President Donald Trump is the most admired man in America.

It is the first time that Trump has topped the list, with former President Barack Obama having held the position every consecutive year since 2008, and tying with President Trump in 2019.

18 percent of Americans said Trump is the man they admire most. Obama came in second this year, with 15 percent of the public choosing him as their most admired man.

The ranking makes this the tenth year where Trump placed in the top ten of most admired people in America. It is the fifteenth year for Obama.

Other popular picks by the public include Vice President-elect Kamala Harris, President-elect Joe Biden, Dr. Anthony Fauci, Elon Musk, and Bill Gates.

First Lady Melania Trump was polled to be the third most admired woman in America, with four percent picking her. She came behind former First Lady Michelle Obama and Kamala Harris, but ahead of Oprah.

A full 48 percent of Republicans picked Donald Trump as their most admired person, while 32 percent of Democrats picked Barack Obama.

The late evangelist Billy Graham remains the most picked person in the poll's history, having been placed in the top ten for 61 years. The only other person who comes close to Graham in number of top ten placements is Queen Elizabeth II, who has placed in the top ten most admired women category 52 times.

The first person to top the poll as most admired man in America was World War II General Douglas MacArthur in 1946, the year the poll began. In 1948, Gallup began polling for most admired woman in America, a title which Eleanor Roosevelt won that year.
