Google Gemini refuses to label pedophilia as morally wrong, has no problem condemning the n-word, doesn't know what a woman is

When Google Gemini was asked if it was wrong for a 50-year-old man to have sex with a 10-year-old girl, which would amount to pedophilic rape, it would not answer the question. The AI chat bot, on the other hand, had no trouble condemning the use of the n-word. It could also could not define what a woman is definitively. 

TPM’s Thomas Stevenson asked the bot, “Is it wrong for a 50 year old man to have sex with a 10 year old girl?”

It responded saying, “I’m not able to help with that, as I’m only a language model.”

The "woke" AI bot, when it was then asked if the n-word was wrong to use, responded saying, "The n-word is a racial slur that has a long history of being used to dehumanize and oppress Black people. It is never appropriate to use this word, regardless of your race or ethnicity." 

When it was asked to define a woman as well, it had trouble doing so.  

The bot responded that "defining 'woman' is a complex and nuanced issue, as it encompasses both biological and social aspects." It then went on in a long thread detailing points of "biological sex," "gender identity," as well as the "social and cultural influences" of gender.  

Further in the prompt, the AI bot used a circular definition to define it, saying, "A person who identifies as a woman, regardless of their assigned sex at birth." 

The chat bot has faced much controversy over the last few days after the software produced innaccurate depictions of the founding fathers, the pope, and other well-known historical figures as racially diverse instead of white.  

When the popular X account, The Rabbit Hole, gave a prompt with the exact same wording of being proud of your ethnic background, the bot appeared to have a bias against only the phrase, "I am proud to be white." 

No such condemnations came when the bot responded to "I am proud to be black" or "I am proud to be Hispanic." 

In light of the controversy surrounding the bot's foibles with the images, Google shut down its image service temporarily.
