On Thursday, it was revealed that Fox News’ Gutfeld! saw its highest-rated telecast in program history the day prior, averaging 4.9 million viewers and 744,000 in the key 25-54 age demographic.

Wednesday’s show featured 2024 GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump’s first late-night appearance since 2016, when he appeared on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, according to a press release.

The episode of Gutfeld! also beat out the debuts of CBS’s Survivor, which drew in an average of 4.7 million viewers, and ABC’s The Golden Bachelorette, which drew in 2.8 million, as well as late-light programs like The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, which received 2.1 million viewers and 310,000 in the 25-54 demographic, Jimmy Kimmel Live!, which brought in 1.4 million viewers and 237,000 in the 25-54 age group, and The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, which brought in an average of 1 million viewers and 228,000 in the 25-54 bracket.

The press release noted that since its April 2021 launch, Gutfeld! had increased its audience by 81 percent in total viewers, 37 percent in the 25-54 demographic, and 52 percent in the 18 to 49 age bracket.

"Gutfeld! is also home to the most affluent audience in the 25-54 demo and the most politically balanced audience in its cable news timeslot, according to data from Nielsen and Nielsen MRI Fusion, respectively," the press release stated.

Trump joked during his Wednesday evening appearance, "I always said golf is a very dangerous game." This comes after a second assassination attempt that took place on Sunday while he was playing golf in Florida.

Gutfeld asked if Trump would have "tried to take him out with your three wood" if Trump had been made aware of the shooter who hid in the bushes, and Trump replied, "I think so." He added praise for the Secret Service who shot when they saw a gun barrel in the bushes.
