The track was inspired by Trump's bravery in the face of adversity.
"This is now the Number One song, across all charts, about me," Trump wrote in a post on Truth Social as well as Instagram. "Such an unexpected honor!"
"Fighter," which was released earlier this week by Baste Records, is a tribute to Trump after he was subject to two different assassination attempts, both in July and this past week. The track was inspired by Trump's determination in the face of adversity and has gone viral online.
The song was a collaboration between Jon Kahn and Chris Wallin and merges Nashville country storytelling with West Coast folk-rock in its style. The music video uses uplifting Trump imagery that depicts determination, showcasing a portrait of the Republican presidential candidate in video and musical format.
Kahn sings the lyrics such as “I got bruises and broken bones, but they don't know, I ain't in this ring alone" and "I hit harder when I'm tired."
It follows within a week of the second assassination attempt on Trump, where Ryan Routh, a left-wing activist, had waited on the GOP nominee's golf course for nearly 12 hours before targeting Trump.
US Seret Service (USSS) spotted Routh when the barrel of a gun was pointed through a chain link fence 300-500 yards away from where Trump was playing on the course. USSS fired upon Routh, and he took off, later getting arrested in the neighboring county.
