Armed hero in Twin Falls In-N-Out shooting ID'd as Jordan Salinas: 'Train like your life depends on it'

Authorities are investigating a deadly shooting at an In-N-Out restaurant in Twin Falls, Idaho, after videos circulated online appearing to show a man with a handgun confronting the shooter during the attack. The shooter reportedly opened fire with an AR-style rifle before being engaged by another individual carrying a pistol, according to witness Lane Koehn, who spoke with The Guardian. Multiple people were killed in the incident, including the shooter, and several others were injured.

Footage shared across social media showed a man taking a shooting stance and firing a handgun toward the attacker. The individual has not been officially identified by authorities, but online users have claimed the person was Jordan Salinas. That identification has not been independently verified. Social media posts quickly praised the man shown in the videos, with some users calling him a hero for intervening. “This man is a HERO!!! He opened fire on an active shooter at a IN-N-OUT. He saved countless lives,” one person wrote online.

Another post stated, “WOW! An absolute PATRIOT put his LIFE on the line and engaged the shooter at a Twin Falls, ID drive-thru. THIS is America. This man exited his car and returned fire to force an active shooter to retreat, undoubtably saving COUNTLESS lives. A TRUE HERO.”

Users also circulated claims that the man was Salinas and shared links to an alleged Facebook account connected to someone with that name from Twin Falls. The account appeared to include posts supporting gun rights, including one celebrating the right to carry arms around the 250th anniversary of American independence. However, officials have not confirmed the identity of the person seen in the footage.

Comments on the alleged account praised the actions shown in the videos, including one person writing, “squaring up with a suppressed pistol against a rifle was so ridiculously awesome.” Another added, “Nice work today dude,” while another wrote, “Thank you for your bravery king !!”

Meanwhile, In-N-Out owner and president Lynsi Snyder released a statement following the shooting, mourning the deaths and confirming that an associate at the restaurant had been shot.
