Vice President JD Vance gave his first public address since being elected to the office earlier this week, and spoke at the annual March for Life  about bringing back a culture families in America. Vance condemned a "culture of radical individualism," and said that he wants to "see more babies in the United States of America." Thousands of pro-life advocates in Washington, DC cheered.

In the beginning of the speech, Vance told the crowd of pro-life marchers, "We march to protect the unborn. We march to proclaim and live out the sacred truth that God has given us. We march to every single child is a miracle and a gift from God." He said that oftentimes in the United States, a culture of radical individualism has made children out to seem like more of a burden than a blessing.

"We failed a generation not only by permitting a culture of abortion on demand, but also by neglecting to help young parents achieve the ingredients they need to live a happy and meaningful life," Vance added in his address. "A culture of radical individualism took root. One where the responsibilities and joys of family life were seen as obstacles to overcome, not as personal fulfillment or personal blessing."

"Our society has failed to recognize, the obligation that one generation has to another is a core part of living in a society to begin with. So let me say very simply, I want more babies in the United States of America. I want more happy children in our country. And I want beautiful young men and women who are eager to welcome them into the world and eager to raise them," Vance continued.

Vance himself had a broken home as a child, and has detailed the those struggles in his book, Hillbilly Elegy. Vance said that it should be easier in the country to raise a family as well as get a good job to support them and added that the Trump administration will be the most pro-family and pro-life president for the country. He cited Trump's child tax credit policy as well as the overturn of Roe vs Wade.

He then added, summing up what type of culture he wants to see in the country, "We need a culture that celebrates life at all stages. One that recognizes and truly believes that the benchmark of national success is not our GDP number or our stock market, but whether people feel that they can raise thriving and healthy families in our country."
