Indigenous community used for Trudeau photo op under 'boil water' advisory since just after he left

Trudeau had travelled to Cowessess in order to pose for the photo after the world learned of the discovery of 751 unmarked graves of children on the grounds of a former residential school.

The community of Cowessess in Saskatchewan was the site of a photo of Justin Trudeau kneeling. Despite Trudeau's contrite gesture, the prime minister failed to deliver on his promise to provide and maintain clean drinking water for that community.

Trudeau had travelled to Cowessess in order to pose for the photo after the world learned of the discovery of 751 unmarked graves of children on the grounds of a former residential school.

"Remember the infamous picture of Trudeau kneeling at the residential school grave in Cowessess? They have been under a short-term boil water advisory since his visit. Maybe he should have brought some contractors with him instead of his photographer."

The Cowessess public water system has had a "temporary" boil water advisory in effect for more than two months. The advisory continues up until the present day, with no end in sight:

Lamentably, the situation in Cowessess is hardly unique. These types of boil water advisories are way to common, from one end of Canadian territory to the other:

As these advisories hit the one-year mark, they will be updated to "long-term" boil water advisories.

According to CTV News, the Trudeau administration had previously promised back in 2015 to rectify all these water supply issues by Mar. 2021. As of the date of this writing, they have fallen far short of this promise.
