Several defendants involved in the events on January 6 have initiated a class-action lawsuit against Capitol Police officers for “millions of dollars in damages.”

Edward Jacob (Jake) Lang, who was arrested for involvement in the January 6 Capitol incident and refers to himself as a “political prisoner,” explained in an interview with Real America’s Voice the lawsuit.

Lang explained that the class-action lawsuit includes over 78 January 6 defendants and is seeking retribution for “millions of dollars in damages and injuries” that the Capitol Police allegedly caused the defendants.

"I got shot in the foot with a rubber bullet, other people were bludgeoned nearly to death, hit with chemical spray and had long-lasting lung effects and so... we are now serving 21 defendants... Capitol Police officers, Capitol Police officials,” Lang explained.

Lang has been accused of swinging a bat at Capitol Police officers "multiple times." He has been in prison since his arrest but has pleaded not guilty to all charges, according to Newsweek.

In a post on X, Lang explained that Eric Waldo, whom he referred to as the “highest ranking officer” on January 6, was served with the January 6 class-action lawsuit summons. Lang further explained on X that the lawsuit was filed by J6 Legal Fund and has been picked up by “Conservative powerhouse Attorneys” Stefanie Lambert and Russell Newman.

Since the events that took place on January 6, 2021, federal prosecutors have charged over 1,265 defendants and incarcerated over 460 individuals, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office in DC.
