A custom, American-made chicken coop has been installed at the Vice President’s residence. Vice President JD Vance said his children have already named the chicks.

The chicken coop was made by Carolina Coops, a family-operated company that has been making coops for the past 18 years. Its owners, Matt and Gnon DuBoise, originally created the company from a desire for fresh eggs. They see this new project as an honor and a fruition of the American dream. “Seeing our work become part of a historic residence like the Naval Observatory is a milestone I will never forget,” Matt DuBoise told Fox News. “As a small business owner, this is a true ‘American dream’ moment for me and my family.”

“I am deeply grateful for the opportunity and excited to continue sharing the benefits and joy of raising chickens with people around the country, as well as how having a chicken coop can benefit families and teach kids valuable life lessons,” he continued. “This project is more than just a chicken coop, it reflects the dedication of our entire team and the values that have guided us from the beginning.”

The coop is fully walk-in and will feature a fully predator-proof structure and an upgraded litter system that allows owners to go more than a year without needing to clean it, according to the company’s website. The chickens will be cared for by the Vice President and sources tell Fox News that his children have named the chicks.

This follows the trend of more than 11 million Americans now own chickens according to American Pet Products Association.
