Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton has filed a lawsuit against Aylo Global, the company that owns Pornhub for violating age verification laws in the state of Texas.
In a press release from the Texas AG's office, Paxton stated that Pornhub violated "HB 1181, a Texas law that requires reasonable age verification measures to protect minors from being exposed to obscene materials."
In a post with the lawsuit, Paxton wrote, "Texas has a right to protect its children from the detrimental effects of pornographic content. I look forward to holding any company accountable that violates our age verification laws intended to prevent minors from being exposed to harmful, obscene material on the internet."
The filing reads that the company has published "sexually explicit material online that is accessible and harmful to Texas children and adolescents" and did so without providing "reasonable age verification measures to ensure those viewing their pornography are 18 years of age or older."
Aylo, under the lawsuit, is charged with civil penalties "of up to $10,000 a day since September 19, 2023" if the company is found in violation of the age verification laws in Texas.
Arden Young, a journalist who exposed Pornhub earlier in 2023 in an undercover video where employees admitted to the content being addictive told The Post Millennial, "Pornhub and its parent company, Aylo, only care about profit. They do not care about protecting children from harmful images. By their own admissions, complying with age verification laws costs them huge drops in traffic."
"Pornhub/Aylo would cease to function if they were to actually comply with laws they are in violation of," Young added.
