JUST IN: Trump calls White House-backed border deal a 'disaster'

"The Democrats BROKE THE BORDER, they should fix it. NO LEGISLATION IS NEEDED, IT’S ALREADY THERE!!!"

As lawmakers in the Senate work to finalize a bipartisan national security bill that would assist the United States' allies abroad and provide additional funding to stem the influx of illegal migrants entering the country, Donald Trump has voiced his displeasure.

The former president called the bill "horrific" and "not necessary," accusing Democrats of trying to pin Biden's border crisis on Republicans.

"A Border Bill is not necessary to stop the millions of people, many from jails and mental institutions located all over the World, that are POURING INTO OUR COUNTRY," Trump wrote in a post on Truth Social. "It is an INVASION the likes of which no Country has ever had to endure. It is not sustainable or affordable, and will, under Crooked Joe Biden, ONLY GET WORSE."

"I had the safest and most secure Border in US History," he continued. "I didn’t need a 'Bill!' They are using this horrific Senate Bill as a way of being able to put the BORDER DISASTER onto the shoulders of the Republicans. The Democrats BROKE THE BORDER, they should fix it. NO LEGISLATION IS NEEDED, IT’S ALREADY THERE!!!"

Trump's sentiments mirror those of some GOP senators, including Florida Sen. Marco Rubio.

"Biden people admit they don’t want to secure the border," he said on Friday. "What they want is bipartisan support for a Senate bill they know is dead in House & that he will never enforce anyways. Then he can both keep the border open AND blame House GOP for it."
