The list of pronoun options includes "ze/hir," "ey/em," "hir/hir," "fae/faer," and "hu/hu."
According to the Harris for President job application, potential new hires upload their resumes and enter their full names. A pronoun drop-down menu appears and offers a list of nine that includes "ze/hir," "ey/em," "hir/hir," "fae/faer," and "hu/hu." If the applicants are unable to find their pronouns they can select "custom" and "let the employer know what pronouns you use so that they can address you correctly."
Candidates are also asked to describe how, if recruited, they will "contribute to building a diverse culture" on the Harris campaign's employment forms. An "optional" diversity survey is included with the applications, which the campaign claims aids in "evaluation diversity and inclusion efforts." Applicants are asked to confirm their gender identification, sexual orientation, and preferred pronouns once more in the survey.
The Biden-Harris administration has touted itself as being the most "diverse" administration in US history, often putting diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) at the forefront of its hiring processes. Vice President Kamala Harris, the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee, appears to be continuing the Biden administration's "inclusive" legacy heading into the November election.
This month, a resurfaced clip also showed that in 2017, Harris called on everyone to be "woke" during a conference. "We have to stay woke. Like everybody needs to be woke," the-Sen. Harris told others on stage. "And you can talk about if you’re the wokest or woker, but just stay more woke than less woke."
