Kirk posted "It’s all about Jesus."
Baltimore Ravens superstar QB Lamar Jackson is facing a left-wing cancel mob after reposting a message of faith from Charlie Kirk.
The repost on X simply said "It’s all about Jesus" - a sentiment all Christians should agree on despite political leanings.
Jackson’s show of faith quickly drew outrage from far-left posters online, who attacked him for amplifying Kirk, a conservative activist and founder of Turning Point USA. His breathless critics argued that by sharing the post, Jackson was platforming Kirk’s politics, while others countered that the quarterback was only affirming his Christian beliefs.
One unhinged X user posted "LAMAR JACKSON RETWEETING WHO??"
Another suggested that he deserved to fail in the playoffs as a consequence for reposting the message of faith.
Just last year, Jackson paid tribute to Christ for his talent and success, saying "And God. God, my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, that’s why we’re having so much success. That’s the One that’s leading us throughout these games, week in and week out" after achieving a perfect passer rating.
Similarly, after winning the NFL MVP in 2023, Jackson gave all the glory to God, saying: "First and foremost, I want to give the glory to my lord and savior Jesus Christ."
Sports commentators and fans were quick to jump into the debate. Some praised Jackson for not being afraid to speak about his faith publicly, while others said the backlash was another example of cancel culture targeting athletes for personal expression.
Over the past few years, Charlie Kirk has increasingly merged his political activism with Christian initiatives, most notably through Turning Point Faith.
Kirk responded to the budding "controversy" by posting "Jesus is the way, truth, and life."
